The CSP Graduate Option is a contractual agreement between the Army and the officer. Please consider the below:
  1. High cost programs are acceptable, there is no cost cap. All funds have been allocated by the G1 in the POM.
  2. Exercising the option does not incur a follow-on utilization tour.
  3. LIFECYCLE / STOP-LOSSED UNITS: Officer must secure a letter of release from the 1st O-8 (MG) in their chain of command in order to break stabilization.
  4. DEPLOYMENTS: Officer must secure a letter of release from the Theater Commander (normally a four-star) to leave theater early.
  5. REDEPLOYING OFFICERS WHO WILL PCS WITHIN 90 DAYS OF RETURN: Officer must submit a DA Form 4187 requesting waiver of the HRC-directed 90-day stabilization, approved by the first O-6 in their chain of command and routed through that command to HRC.
  6. Provide an annual slate of graduate school attendees to G-1, DMPM, NLT 30 June of each year.
  7. Annually validate individual officers` continued eligibility for graduate school. Ensure they are not flagged, remain eligible for favorable actions, and have no derogatory information that would preclude graduate school attendance.
  8. POST 9/11 GI BILL: The Post- 9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008 became effective on August 1, 2009. Officers must serve 36 months after completing commissioning ADSO to be fully eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
